Gangsta party in Cihangir
We had a great party in the Cihangir district, part of the modern center of Istanbul, near Taksim square. We were all disguised as gangsta men and women from the 20ties and 30ties; dancing on music from that era on a terras on the top floor of an appartment building overlooking the Bosphorus, the old city and the Golden Horn.
Cihangir is a neighborhood of the old bourgeoisie, built in the 19th century. It has an atmosphere that reminds us of Paris. Writers, reporters, artists and foreigners live here. they who work for diplomatic missions, at foreign schools and foreign companies. There a lot of nice boutiques, art ateliers, tea houses, bistros, and some of the best wine sellers in town. Orhan Pamuk also has an appartment here. A great district for having parties!
